Excellent location within walking distance of the vibrant CBD, fashionable Newmarket, Parnell shops and the War Memorial Museum located in the Domain, sitting high up on one of Auckland’s many extinct volcanoes only a short stroll away; here you can also enjoy the exotic flora of the Winter Gardens glasshouse and wide views of the city, and host to free classic music in summer weekends; or wander down through the New Zealand native bush walks. Alternatively, you can stroll through the beautiful Parnell Rose Gardens down to Judges Bay beach and the Parnell Baths which are less than five minutes stroll from Parnell Villa Particular. Also nearby is the historic St Mary’s Cathedral.
The local shops are a two or three minute stroll and include a chemist, butcher, greengrocer, dairy, wine cellar and a typical New Zealand fish and chip shop, as well as Rosehip, an excellent and busy cafe. The very popular French market, La Cigale, is also on your doorstep, open every Saturday (the best day) and Sunday morning for all your fresh produce, croissants and other divine pastries, and an enormous array of foods.
